What is the 5th Chakra?

56851338 - throat chakra

Before looking at the 5th chakra, please be sure to read the What are the Chakras and how do I align them? article to get familiar with what the chakras are.

The fifth chakra is called the Throat chakra. The color of it is blue. This chakra is concerned with communication, truth and one’s personal voice. Each of these will be discussed at a deeper level for further innerstanding.

Communication is not only what we say. What we do not say is also a part of communication. What we say and the way we say it affects our throat chakra. The intent used when saying it matters as well. How we accept communication from others (verbal and non verbal) is another part of communication. How we react to things we do not like as well as how we react to things that we do like or are in agreement with also affect the this chakra. How effective we are at expressing our feelings and thoughts, as well as how effectively we listen to others when they express their thoughts and feelings has a lot to do with the throat chakra.

Another element associated with the throat is truth. How comfortable one is with their truth as well the truth of others, whether it agrees or agrees with their own. How closely one is connected to their truth is very important with this and every chakra.

One’s personal voice is the last main element of the throat chakra. This aspect deals with the communication from within, how one speaks to their self in their own head and how this voice translates to the outside world. To be in tune and to honor your personal voice is a quality all should develop while on this spiritual journey of life.

throat chakra 2

Some ways to tell that your throat chakra is unhealed or needs rebalancing are:

  • miscommunication at work
  • problems/disagreements with others
  • not being heard correctly
  • not speaking up when necessary; at work, with friends, with family
  • not knowing one’s voice; not sharing one’s voice
  • refusing to communicate effectively; yelling, not listening
  • agreeing with others for acceptance
  • sore throat without a cold or flu
  • laryngitis
  • neck and shoulder pain
  • afraid to speak up or over speaking

Some ways of determining if your throat chakra is balanced are:

  • communicating to listen, instead of just to respond
  • positive self talk
  • no fear of letting one’s opinion be heard
  • consideration for other’s feelings
  • considering delivery method of words
  • checking one’s self
  • expressing vulnerabilities
  • healthy teeth and gums

What can one do to balance their throat chakra?

With the intent of healing and balancing the throat chakra, one can wear the color blue, eat blue foods, as well as other techniques. Some blue foods are blueberries and blue potatoes. One can use chamomile essential oils; on skin, oil burner, spritz, or even in incense form.

One can also do their best to speak up when necessary and keep quiet when necessary. mastering the art of knowing when to speak as well as how to and when not to speak and how not to go about doing it are essential. Approaching every situation from a standpoint of compassion, innerstanding and love.

Healing stones are also known for helping with balancing and healing the throat or 5th chakra. Because its color is blue, most blue stones assist with the throat chakra. Therefore, they each help with communication, nonetheless, they each carry their own special abilities as well. For example, larimar, blue calcite and aqua aura quartz will all help with communication. Furthermore, larimar can also help one with anxiety and road rage while blue calcite can help one create lucid dreams and aqua aura quartz can help one communicate with the angelic realms. My suggestion? Let them choose you and then do your research on them. You will find that the ones that called you, are the exact ones you need.

Root or Base (1st) Chakra

root chkra 2

Chakras are energy centers that dwell within our subtle body or aura. The 7 Major Chakras have both individual and inter-related communication within our physical body, organs and systems. Blockages or imbalances can occur from trauma, negative experiences, negative belief systems, or simply from life’s daily ups and downs. Chakras can function as portals to receive energy or as transformers of energy. They can both absorb and radiate energy. Sometimes, the first sign of imbalance is a physical or emotional symptom. Frequent colds or persistent relationship problems, for example, could indicate that you need a chakra tune-up.*

The first of the seven (7) major chakras is the root or base chakra. This chakra deals with grounding, stability, and security. Before we continue, let us discuss these three things a bit further. They sound pretty basic but they can go very deep as well. For example, grounding refers to how balanced you are physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually; these are the four levels of existence. Everything that we do goes through these four levels.

Stability refers to how stable we are physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Am eye a roller coaster of emotions or am eye mostly at peace? Am eye being strong in my decisions or weak when it comes to changes and challenges? Am eye stable in my home, as far as my living situation, or am eye jumping from house to house, town to town, etc? Do eye often have to worry about food and clothing? Are my bills paid on time? Can eye do laundry when eye need to? how able am eye to solve these problems? How often do eye have these problems?

The answers to these questions will tell you, just by you asking them to yourself in your head when you read this, how balanced or unbalanced you root or base chakra is. Security relates to how secure one is with their decisions and their consequences. The ability to adapt and conform or go with the flow of things is one of a balanced root or base chakra. How secure one feels in their methods and what they are yielding or getting out of their choices can help one determine how much balancing the chakra needs and of which type.

root chakra

To help balance this chakra one can do many things. One beginning can be to recognize the signs of imbalance. Some signs of imbalance are anemia, fatigue, lower back pain, sciatica, depression, poor circulation, lack of innerg (especially in women), failure to pay bills on time, overwhelming sense of being lost, feeling like there’s too much on your plate and not feeling or being connected to Geb.

Some ways to balance this chakra are by Physical exercise, sound sleep, gardening, working with clay such as pottery and sculpture. Other ways are to go earthing; this is when one takes their feet and puts them into the soil or even on the grass or concrete (provided that it is not too hot or too cold).

Red foods and teas such as beets, tomatoes,  red peppers, red beans, strawberries (which also help one let go of negative memories) and pomegranates can assist in balancing the root or base chakra. Healing stones of the color red assist one in healing this chakra. Stones such as ruby, red jasper and garnet. Wearing red clothing, bathing with red oils or flowers such as ylang ylang and sandalwood would also help. Burning sandalwood oil or incense would help as well.

One can also aid and cleanse this chakra through meditation and the help of Reiki. Eye am a Reiki Master, Teacher and active Practitioner. If you would be interested in this powerful natural healing method, please read the Reiki link for many common questions. With that said, my specialty is distant sessions. This means that eye excel or am really good at doing sessions from a distance or by being far away from you. The distance does not matter, eye am able to work with anyone; children and pets included.

Reiki can help anyone on any path of life and on all levels. One example, is the fifth (5th) or throat chakra. One aspect of this chakra is the ability to communicate effectively with others and with oneself. When one is angry at themselves they might have negative inner or self talk. This requires healing. When one has misunderstandings with others regularly, this is a sign of an imbalanced throat chakra. Cleansing and balancing is needed. It should be innerstood that work on the part of the person receiving the healing is necessary depending on the healing session.

There are two types of sessions: physical and distance sessions. For the time being eye am providing distance sessions. Physical sessions include an innerg session tailored to what the individual needs. Distance sessions can be executed without being in the vicinity of the person needing the healing. The healing is available on four levels, these levels are physical, emotional, mental and karmic. You may email me once you have read the following descriptions, examples, and general information. Description of the 4 healing levels and examples below:

PHYSICAL healing refers to healing the physical body. This can range from, but not limited to headaches, sore throat, a cut, or swelling.

EMOTIONAL healing refers to anything that relates to ones emotions. Examples of this are lack of self love, courage, strength, peace, clarity and depression.

MENTAL healing refers to one’s mental health. One’s positivity, self talk, thought patterns, addictions, deeply rooted anger, triggers, etc.

KARMIC and SOUL healing. This session is about eliminating unwanted behaviors from this and future lives that we brought into this life from a past life. Examples of this are dating the same type of people, patterns that are hard to let go, and fear that we do not know where it comes from.

Basic healing sessions work on the physical level.

Intermediate healing sessions work on the emotional level.

Advanced healing sessions work on the mental, soul and karmic levels.

Healing Stones for your Throat

20160727_105549

*blue lace agate on the left and sodalite on the right. Both have been wire wrapped by me,  Queen Akuchi*

Before talking about healing stones, make sure you read the article on the chakras that eye posted in January of 2015

The 5th chakra is what we will be talking about today.  Its color is blue. This chakra deals with the throat and its surrounding areas on every level; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. That is to say, that the 5th chakra is related to the throat, the larynx, the teeth, sore throat, strep throat, communication and anything related to the mouth and throat.

When the throat chakra is blocked it looks dull and it hardly spins when looking at it through the spiritual realm. You know your throat chakra is blocked when you have any ailment in the mouth, like the ones mentioned above but not limited to those. It is also easy to tell if your throat chakra is blocked if you have communication problems with others.  If the chakra is not cleared one can even develop cancer. It is very important to clear all of your chakras for a healthy lifestyle: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Most throat chakra blockages begin with communication. Whether it is inner  (your thoughts, how you feel about the efficiency of your communication, etc) or outter (how you actually communicate with self and others. Keep in mind that negative self talk will also block your throat chakra. If you gossip, laugh at others expense, have cruel jokes, don’t communicate your desires effectively, let others talk over you, over speak, don’t speak up when necessary, for example, are ways many of us block or clog our throat chakras.

There are easy ways to unblock your throat chakra. One way is by wearing the color blue around the throat area. This would include blue tops, blue earrings, and blue necklaces. Another is by speaking only positive things. Next, would be by thinking positively. Not allowing negative self talk is a huge one. Do not downplay yourself. Instead, encourage yourself. No one is perfect and we all have room to grow. With practice anything can be achieved! Know when to speak up and when not to engage in conversation. Let your desires and emotions be heard. Communicate them effectively and lovingly. Especially, with friends, family, coworkers, self and most definitely with your partner. Holding things in that should be communicated will have negative effects. The more you let hold it in, the worse it gets.

Here, eye will include various healing stones that eye sell to help one with the throat chakra. However, eye do not sell Indicolite or blue tourmaline at the moment. My favorite of the following is blue lace agate because it is, in my experiences, one of the best to assist one in bringing up and letting go things unsaid from the past. One of my clients purchased a blue lace agate and from the moment she received it (with personalized reiki) her throat started to tingle and she called her roommate into the room n started crying about things she was holding on to from her childhood. She spoke to her roommate about it for 2 days. On the third day, her throat no longer tingled and her throat chakra was clear. If you’re willing to put in the work, the stone will be a great asset to your healing and growth.

Eye created these descriptions with my knowledge of stones and information from “The Book of Stones” by Richard Simmons and Naisha Ahsian.

Indicolite(Blue Tourmaline) 5th and 6th Chakras, (Throat and Third Eye, respectively). This stone is blue in color and very “quartz looking”. This stone can be used as an aid in meditation and the expansion of consciousness. Indicolite strengthens the psychic gifts- clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, prophecy and spirit communication. It is an excellent tool for those who wish to become a medium between the two worlds. Assists one in easily opening their third eye at their own place when placed on the third eye during meditation. Because of its blue color it allows one to easily communicate their messages from the spirit realm. In the subconscious it helps one to find the best way to communicate what is necessary. This stone can be used to achieve higher levels of alternate dimensions, if one needs to be grounded you can use a black tourmaline to bring you back to earth in full capacity. Indicolite’s innergies can be augmented by combining with stones such as; lapis lazuli, blue chalcedony, lazulite, aqua aura quartz, Siberian blue quartz, and/or sodalite. This stone aids in Zen filled meditation and a peaceful state of mind. It also helps one release attachments one may have to outcomes as well as to the past. Spiritual: this stone aligns the mind with Divine innerg. Stops overactive thinking to allow the development of pure awareness. It can assist one in communicating with higher beings on matters of healing and spiritual development. Emotional: helps one innerstand the root cause of emotional trauma or emotional imbalance. It is ideal for exploring past lives in order to attain the cause to karmic experiences. Physical: this stone works particularly well for headaches and migranes. Helps one find the spiritual imbalance to physical ailments.

Lapis Lazuli: 6th and 5th chakras (Third Eye and Throat, respectively). This stone is blue in color with gray and white inclusions. Known as a stone for being very eclectic. It has been used for many things, from eye shadow, to medicine and clearing negative thoughts. It carries the vibration of the inner “king” and “queen” inside of us. This stone is perfect for achieving deep inner travels and attaining deep knowledge of self. Lapis activated the psychic centers in the third eye. Opens up the doors to intuition and spiritual guidance. It is a stone of visual awareness. Enhances intellectual ability thus making one a better learner and teacher. Aids in the throat chakra, therefore, assisting one in speaking truth in all situations. An ideal stone for initiation into the higher realms. Assists one in recalling past lives, thus, helping one in their struggles during this incarnation. Works very well with Moldavite for identifying one’s higher purpose. Alexandrite and Oregon Opakl help one open the portals to past-life memories. Harmonizes well with Turquoise, Rhodochrosite, Sugilite, Chrysoprase, Pietersite, Rhodonite and Larimar. Helps one learn more efficiently as well as memory retention. Helps one gain access to the Akashic records. A stone of self-knowledge and reflection. Spiritual: awakens the third eye and enhances one’s ability to visualize and receive visual guidance or information. Enhances meditative journeys and allows one to experience past and alternate-life viewing. A stone for clairvoyance and precognition. Emotional: helps one to identify habits, patterns, and lessons one may have difficulty perceiving consciously and which may be blocking one’s spiritual ascension. Physical: helps one identify the karmic root of disease. Particularly helpful in identifying habitual thoughts, patterns and emotions that limit one’s healing.

Turquoise: works with the throat chakra (5th). It is used to find wholeness and truth. It aids in the communication and manifestation of wholeness and truth. It stimulates and harmonizes the throat chakra making it easier to articulate and bring forth one’s deepest wisdom. Wearing it can empower someone who is shy to speak up because it makes one realize that we each have something powerful to share with others and the universe. It balances one’s self and induces a sense of serenity and peace. Holding it can help lift sagging spirits. This stone has the capacity to heal the emotional body, relieve stress, and bring the focal point of awareness to its proper center in the heart. Teaches the wisdom of compassion and forgiveness. Works harmoniously with Gem Silica, Shattucktite, Chrysocolla, Ajoite and others. It is on friendly terms with all Calcite, Smithsonite and Hemimorphite. Larimar is a near perfect complement to Turquoise in regard to soothing and healing the emotional body. Spiritual: Turquoise is like an ancient grandfather ally, counseling one that all experience are valid and that mistakes are simply another experience. It reminds us that wholeness can only come when we are willing to embrace the totality of who we are and what we have learned on our Earth walk. Emotional: Turquoise is a stone for self-forgiveness, self-acceptance, and the release of useful regrets. It encourages one to honor oneself as a creation and a tool of the Divine. Physical: helps oxygenate the blood and increase the amount of prana (in Hinduism- breath, considered as a life-giving force) in the physical body.

Blue Lace Agate: throat (5th) chakra. This stone is blue in color with either traces of white or a mixture of white. This stone is beneficial to those who have difficulty making themselves heard by others, or who wish to become more articulate in their speech. Gives one confidence to speak regardless of the situation while making it easier to help one “find the words” needed. Instills clarity of thought, enhances loyalty and trustworthiness. Strengthens the throat chakra and amplifies the power that comes through it. Works over time as the power and determination increase. Helps those who talk too much, don’t talk enough, or speak without thinking first. Helps one discern what needs to be said and when while innjoying inner silence and its glory. Aids in trustful communication. Helps children and adults decipher between fictional stories and actual stories. Offers energetic support to those who must talk often in their lie of work, for example, teachers, presenters, lecturers, etc. Helps protect the throat chakra from overstimulation, and can help with sore throat, laryngitis, or other inflammations related to the throat chakra. Spiritual: teaches us that our words create our reality and can be a reflection of our higher self. Aids in meditation when seeking information and guidance. Helps still ones thoughts when placed on the third eye. Emotional: it is calming and centering. Helps soothe worried or nervous dispositions and calms overly stimulated children. Assists one in recognizing their words when it comes to manifesting reality. Identifies negative thoughts and behavior patterns and shifts them into a more positive and uplifting pattern. Helps shy individuals b less shy about opening up and sharing their wisdom while calming down the need to talk in those who feel the need to talk excessively. Physical: assists with sore throat, laryngitis, and other throat inflammations, balances the thymus and thyroid glands, and helps calm hyperactivity. Helps children when having communication difficulties. Aids children who have difficulty sleeping due to fear.

Hope this helps!

Metu Neter Vol 1 Introduction part 2

PhotoGrid_1421094840942

We have started the first of four volumes of the Metu Neter (pictured above). We have already looked at the authors preface and this post will be a two part post where we are looking at the introduction of the first chapter. Read part 1 here.

Part 1 of this post established the fact that there are two selves. It also posed the question “why do we learn only from each other when we can establish a connection to the all knowing and learn from there?”. Now, we shall continue…

PhotoGrid_1425345536983

Paragraph 9 This brief paragraph states that the answers to the aforementioned question will give us full and complete insight into anything that we would like to know. It explains the causes to the worldly problems of today and provides solutions as well. The author, Ra Un Nefer Amen, states that as far as he knows, the African spiritual tradition is one which allows one to be in tune with all functions in the world and fully capable of manipulating them.

IMG_20150302_191307

Paragraph 10- This brief paragraph describes the three different types of people in the world, regardless of culture or financial status. The first is the one who relies on the willed part of being for survival and nourishment. That is to say, this person relies only on what they are consciously doing and not much else. The second person is the one who relies on the omniscient intelligence. For example, they rely fully on their connection to the source and their experiences in trance in order to live. The third person is the one who establishes an equilibrium between the aforementioned two.

Paragraph 11- This paragraph begins by stating that these three people are not separate from each other but that they represent the evolving consciousness of individuals and nations. For example, in my opinion, the break down is as follows: The first person is the person who looks for things outside of themselves to make them happy. This is the person who goes to school to get a job and pay bills for the rest of their life. They follow the main stream society here in America. The second person is the person who relies solely on what they feel from within and their connection to The Most High/God/Allah/Jah/etc. These are people we usually call hippies because they are thought to be laid back, loving to all, and in tune with themselves and nature. The third person is someone who finds balance within the two. This is someone who is in tune with themselves and the universe without leaving behind the benefits of the physical realm as well.

Paragraph 12- In this paragraph Ra Un Nefer Amen, the author goes into which nations these stages represent. He states that the first stage; those consumed with things outside of them, would represent the Western man and some Orientals. Eye agree because eye live in America and that depiction is quite apparent and rampant in society.  The nations with the second stage are those looking within themselves. This is true for the Black/Alkebulan/African nations and some Orientals. The third stage encompasses the success of both parts. This has truly only been achieved by the Kemetians, who for the record, are Black/Alkebulan/African.

Paragraph 13- Amen goes on to state that this is why the first institutions of civilizations began with Black/Alkebulanian/African nations. This is the reason as to why they were equipped with a high extent of secret universal knowledge from within (from religion and astrology to martial arts and medicine).

IMG_20150302_191328Screenshot_2015-03-18-13-07-46

Paragraph 14- We each have a “program of order”. This program is made up of the bodily processes that act in a certain order. This is also called our health. This same “program of order” is what motivates the social behavior of people. The author goes on to say that true religion is, as we will come to see, the connection and techniques used in communicating with the director of the omniscient being within each of us. This will give us access to the power and storehouse of information from within, as well as allow us to be the host for shaping the factors in our lives or manifesting our realities. *This program of order corresponds to Maat*

Paragraph 15- The world is in the state that it is due to the dominant culture in the world being made up of the external part of being. That is to say that they are more interested in outside appearances and possessions than those from within, if they care about those at all. These types of people believe that reading or preaching on a particular subject will give u the knowledge on that subject. In my opinion, as well as that of the author’s, this is not the case. You may be able to hear 10 lectures on the chakras and read 15 books on them as well but until you start actively working on them you will never really feel what needs to be felt in order to activate the “can do” spirit that eye believe we all posses from within. However, this can do spirit can not be spoken into action. It has to BE the action. Amen goes on to say that everything that we know of today has an origin in the intuition of someone else. This is true for religious, moral and spiritual behavior as well. He points out that in today’s society the dominant culture encourages us to seek  this information from somewhere outside of ourselves; churches, mosques, temples, etc. While in contrast, Alkebulanian and some Oriental cultures promote knowledge and wisdom from within through trance; thus receiving intuitive guidance for the same ends. We are reminded that the external parts of our beings can not motivate or shape our actions or bodily functions because this is something that stems from within. This makes it a bit easier to innerstand why the Western cultures preach such high moral values yet their actions do not match. It is because they want to be better people and act in the best way possible, however, their limited innerstanding of what is being told to them from outside of themselves prevents them from actually doing so. They are disconnected to the inner guide that tell them not to engage in certain activities while promoting others. It is difficult for one to focus on their inner abilities and connections when the greater part of society glorifies the things that are external to us. For example, how can a child that grows up listening to “gangster rap” ever grow up wanting to meditate? They don’t! And that is a part of what needs to change as well. We will__- discuss the history of this phenomenon as well as a structure of how it begins.

This concludes the introduction to the first volume of the Metu Neter. What do you all think?
